Inside the Murder of Aarushi Talwar
On May 16, 2008, 13- year-old Aarushi Talwar was found lying in a pool of blood, with her throat slit in her bedroom at her house in Noida, India. Suspiciously, a day after Aarushi was discovered dead, the family housekeeper, 45-year-old Hemraj Banjade was also found dead on the Talwar family Terrace.
Background
Aarushi was born on May 24 1994 to parents Rajesh and Nupur Talwar. Both parents were doctors that worked at the Fortis Hospital in Noida. Both were head of the dental department and shared this responsibility with close friends Anita and Praful Durrani. Aarushi was described to be a very lively and active girl. She attended high school at Dehli Public School and she enjoyed dancing, listening to music, travelling and talking to her friends all day and all night.
Night Before The Murder
On the fateful night of May 15, 2008, Rajesh and Nupur Talwar came home from work around 9:30 pm and shortly after had dinner all together with Aarushi. They gifted her a new digital camera as an early birthday present. They took a few photos together and retired to their rooms afterward. Aarushi was last seen by her parents on her bed reading a book.
